Best Buttercream Frosting EVER!

I have played around with way too many recipes in my time in the kitchen, with many failed attempts. Now, I have finally found the best recipe for the perfect buttercream frosting. This one is sure to wow your family, friends, or perhaps your clients. It is one we use on everything we make - cookies, cakes, and cupcakes. Creamy and light. Sweet and savory. It tackles all the best a buttercream has to offer.

Ingredients

4-5 cups confectioner’s sugar

1 cup (2 sticks) softened unsalted butter

1/4 cup heavy cream

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Sprinkle of Salt

Steps

  1. Use a stand mixer or handheld mixer to beat the butter at medium speed until creamy. Once creamy, add in the heavy cream and vanilla extract.

  2. Once combined, slowly add in confectioner’s sugar beating in at a low speed. (Remember - you can always add more, but can’t remove ingredients, so start with less and add more if needed.) After a couple minutes you can begin beating your mixture at a medium/high speed for a few more minutes.

  3. Now that you've combined all necessary ingredients it is bets to taste before adding in the salt. The salt will cut down the sweetness of the frosting.

Side Notes

  • This recipe makes enough frosting for one dozen cupcakes.
